Climate of Cesme
The region of Cesme has a typical
Mediterranean climate and is a wonderful destination all year round. Although
the summer months are from April to October, the area is blessed with the
cooling Imbat breeze, which blows off the Aegean Sea, so even the hottest months
of July and August are really quite pleasant.
Getting to Cesme
The bus system between Cesme and Izmir -
Turkey’s third largest city is convenient and well organized with buses plying
every 15 minutes from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.
History of Cesme
Cesme, the port of Erythrai, was known as
Cyssus in Ancient Times. Historically Cesme was both an important sea port and
the home to famous wine producers of the Aegean region.

place that is a natural combination of healing mineral springs, pristine
beaches, and azure waters with green fields in the backdrop. Cesme, a unique
village located on the Aegean coast, 80 kms. west of Izmir, is one such Turkish
destination well known for its abundant healing springs and thermal waters.

Cappadocia is easily accessible by bus from
anywhere in Turkey. By train, it is slower and uncomfortable and these trains
run from Istanbul and Ankara to Kayseri and Nigde. There are connecting flights
of the Turkish Airlines, which connect Istanbul with Kayseri (daily) and
Nevsehir (Tuzkoy airport) twice on a weekly basis.
Shopping in Cappadocia
Avanos is a place in Cappadocia, which is
famous for its pots. Intricate and beautiful, these pots make excellent
memorabilia. Other attractive sets are mugs, ashtrays, ornate plates and chess
sets.

When you visit Cappadocia do take a taste of its
cereals, potatoes and wine. But the fruits of this region are said to be the
best in all of Turkey because of the pigeon droppings.

Fairy Chimneys, Cappadocia
Nature’s powers are wondrous and beautiful,
one such example is the famed “fairy chimneys” of Cappadocia. These are moonlike
landscapes formed by the continual erosion of the volcanic landscape by the wind
and rain. If you leave Cappadocia without visiting this place your whole journey
would go to waste.
